Handbells

https://www.facebook.com/EmeraldCityRingers/videos/1804856449533899/ I just had a bell concert. Check out the link if you want to see me play.  I move around lots and play everything from the biggest to the smallest bells.

Scrapbooking, Halloween Party Fun

This is my last layout for the Memory Nest .  I can't believe it!  It's been fun creating these layouts, but I'm ready for a bit of a scrapbooking break.  I've got lots going on and a few non scrapbooking projects that I would like to get around to doing.  Anyways, this layout was fun.  I actually was able to get a little scrap piece of fabric for my daughter's Halloween costume onto the layout.  I also made the little flair with my button maker.  I need to remember to make more buttons.  They are so much fun to make.

Scrapbooking, Spooktackular

Happy Monday!  Wow was last week crazy.  I experienced more drama than I ever imagined and I am so glad for a brand new week.  They super short version is that some people got very emotional that a song wasn't going to be included in a winter sing-a-long.  The full version takes me about 20 minutes to say and I don't even know how long that would take to type, so lets just enjoy my layout for the memory nest .  I used a bunch of stamps and colored them in on this layout.  I was in a very stampy mood.  My favorite part is how the title turned out.  The little lamp post sticker was just a perfect fit. Normally I do a pumpkin patch layout, but we never made it to the pumpkin patch this year.  We had too many activities and the one day we could go, the weather was a disaster.  We had a solid downpour all day long and that's no fun when you have a baby. I did try to make up for it by going around my neighborhood and getting some pho...

Scrapbooking, Got The Beat

Happy Monday!  I've got my latest Memory Nest layout here.  My littlest guy loves to wack on drums, and when we went to the play place at the zoo we found a couple of drums  He had such a blast.  He gives me some of the best smiles.  I didn't really have too many musical embellishments when making this layout, so I painted some notes and used some musical paper to make a little frame.  The sequence circle ended up reminding me of drums.  It's fun when something works out like that!

Scrapbooking, Hats

Happy Monday!  I just love this happy layout. I found some fun rainbow strips of paper I had laying around and I knew they were perfect for my   Memory Nest  layout.  I've been looking at a bunch of my past layouts and I realize that black and white combined with rainbows tends to make some of my most favorite layouts.  It sure is hard to get a lot of layouts done lately.  My little Benji bunny likes to keep me up lots, so I've been functioning on very little sleep.  It's hard to scrapbook when all you want to do is take a nap

Scrapbooking, 123 Sleep

So it might look like three layouts, but really it's only one Memory Nest layout that I have for you.  My layout features a pull tab that slides the photo to be three different ones of my littlest one falling asleep. I'm really glad this worked out so well.  It's been forever since I've done an interactive page.  I hope you enjoy my take!

Scrapbooking, Wookiee Hug

Happy Monday!  Here is my layout for the Memory Nest .  We just got back from our trip to Walt Disney World.  We weren't going to do any character things, but my daughter put this wookiee shirt on when we went to Hollywood Studios.  There isn't a ton for little kids to do there and the line was short to see Chewbacca.  He was so much fun and was one of our favorite experiences from our trip.  The layout is simple, but looks cool in person.  I didn't want to over do the layout since it had so much stitching on it, but I might go back and to a little boarder around it.

Scrapbooking, Biggest Smiles

Hey, I'm really late in posting this.  It was my layout last month for the Memory Nest .  I was back east visiting my family and ment to post this while I was there, but my mom ended up having a stroke and that ocupid my mind.  Thankfully, my mom is doing really well.  It even took longer for me to post, because we went to Flordia (Disney World) right after that and finally are home.

Scrapbooking, Make A Wish 2017

Happy Monday!  It has been a busy time at my house.  Lots of birthdays in the summer for us!  My daughter just had her party this weekend.  Few, I'm glad it is done.  It was chaos!  A lot of smoke has been coming down from fires in Canada and we haven't been able to spend much time outside because of the poor air quality.  It's also been in the 90s almost every day and most of Seattle has no air conditioning.  Being stuck in a hot house that can't have the windows open is no fun.   Anyways, here is my memory nest layout.  My husband had to fly to Toronto for work on my son's birthday, so we went to the zoo the day before and did things we don't normally get to to like feed animals and ride the carousel there.  I still wanted to do something on his birthday, so we gathered the neighborhood kids and had a mini celebration on our driveway.  It was cute, fun, and easy.  These are the photos I took.  I had a bunc...

Scrapbooking, Bridging Ceremony

Happy Monday!  Here is my layout for the Memory Nest .  I must say, that I thought I would get a lot more scrapbooking done this summer, but it seems to be difficult to find the time.  I guess the nice weather has been calling me outside too much.  My daughter recently bridged from being a Daisy to a Brownie in Girl Scouts.  It was really cute, but the lighting was horrible.  I tried to make the best of the poor photo quality.  I spent a ton of time on the background of this layout, and you can't see most of it.  I first used my markers to make this circle of dots.  Then I painted more bigger circles.  Finally I used this glaze stuff to make four different textured regions.  You can see the triangles in the upper right best.  I was going to watercolor so the textures pop out more, but decided that it might make the page too busy.  I already have a lot going on and it is a bit tricky to read the title.

Scrapbooking, Unbearbaly Cute

Here is my Memory Nest layout for this week.  My layout is a cute one of my little guy.  I love the outfits with little ears.  They are my weakness.  I recently got a button maker for my daughter's birthday and I made that little panda button using it.  It took a couple of attempts, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.  I see lots and lots of buttons in my future.   Buttons are one of my favorite embellishments for scrapbooking.

Scrapbooking, Little Blue Bird

Wow it's monday.  We had such a busy week!  There was pony riding with girl scouts, ballet recital, hand chime playing, and a gymnastics show.  I'm exhausted from it all.  Anyways, here it my latest Memory Nest layout.  The photos are from when my daughter recieved her ballet costume and tried it on.  She was a little blue bird.  She loves the outfit because it has feathers instead of sparkles.  Feathers are soft compaired to sequence that gets itchy and scratchy!   It has been a while since I edited photos, but I really wanted to make the blue of her tutu stand out.  The alpha stickers I used on my layout are not my favorite, but it turns out I don't have to many blue options. The l and the u in blue look the weirdest.

Scrapbooking, Rig-A-Palooza

Wow, how can it be monday already?  Time is going by much to fast!  Here is my latest layout for the Memory Nes t.  The background is supposed to look like tire tracks...it might have worked a bit better if I used black paint instead of white.  Oh well.  This was a fun layout to do.  This is my first real boy layout out of what I can only imagine will be many.  I've never scraped trucks before!  I discovered that I don't have too many boy geared embellishments with the exception of monsters.  I have a lot of  *cute* monsters.  With the lack of manly embellishments, I actually tried to make a big dump truck for the background.  It didn't go to well.  My truck making needs a lot of work. HAHAHA! I decided to make my photos be the angle shape.  This let me have a bunch more photos.  I still have a ton of extra truck photos though.  It was a fun event.  So many types of trucks!  The bomb s...

Scrapbooking, I've got the moves

Wow time sure does go by fast!  Here is my layout for the Memory Nest . My son loves to sing and dance and my husband took these photos of him dancing away when we went to see the tulips.  I just had to scrap them.   The layout ended up being fairly simple, but sometimes simple is all you need.  It turns out that it is really hard to scrap with a little baby around who likes to be awake and grab everything.  I wanted to do some stitching on this layout, but it was just too hard to do it with a baby on my lap.  I also tried to do some stamping, and that didn't go so well and I ended up having to cover it up.  I definitely need to come up with some clever ways to scrapbook with a baby around.  Maybe my littlest guy will become a scrapbooker?

Scrapbooking, Tulips in Wind or Rain

Happy Monday!  I've got my latest Memory Nest layou t.  We just went to see the tulip fields.  I don't think a year can pass without going to see them.  It was crazy windy this year!  The weather was not nearly as nice weather as in years past, but we did miss most of the rain.  It started to downpour when we got back to our car.  This year, I made dutch outfits for two of my kids.  They came out really cute, but I never got around to making one for Benji.  Hopefully next year! This layout is for my daughter and was fun to do.  Her pictures came out really beautiful.  She really is starting to grow into a little lady.  Anyways, I liked being able to use a project life card.  I have way too many of those as I never get far doing them.  Hopefully I'll catch up.  We shall see!

Scrapbooking, PicOfTheDay

Happy Monday!  I feel like the weeks are just flying so fast I can't believe it!  My littlest guy is almost three months old.  Anyways, here is my latest layout for the Memory Nest .  I really liked the vertical lines from the sketch.  At first I stitched some lines down the paper, but they really did not show at all, so I started coloring the leaves.  At first I was just doing a few, but it still didn't have much of an inpact.  Before long, I colored a whole bunch of them.

Scrapbooking, Three of Something

Happy Monday!  Here is my Memory Nest layout for this week.  I've started working on my juggling baby photos for Benji.  I did it monthly for the first year of life with my older munchkins, but I didn't get around to scrapbooking all of them yet.  The title might seem a little odd, but I joke that I have three kids so I can juggle them.

Scrapbooking, Heart

Happy Monday!  Here is my latest layout for the memory nest .  I spent forever going through my project life cards trying to decide what one to use.  I have such a collection of them, since I try to do project life every year and fail.  And I'm trying again this year!  Last year I made it to July and it was my farthest yet.  Anyways, I have a lot of different type of cards and I narrowed it down to this pink #LOVE one and to a wooden card with a rainbow on it.  I really liked how the pink poped out on the gray.  It won, but I spent about an hour trying to decide, and I really had a lot of other things I needed to be doing then starring at my layout.

Scrapbooking, Little Dutch Girl

Happy Monday!  Here is my layout for  the memory nest  using the pictures from my previous post about the outfit I made for my daughter's community cultural festival.  I'm still rather impressed with myself with how fast I made that outfit.  This is a fun little layout.  I picked out this striped paper because I wanted it to kind of look like the striped skirt.  The black frame I made using an old chipboard frame and a little bit of paint and punching out some dots.  The orange buildings should look like the row houses in Amerstdam.  Here are a few photos from when I was a kid, so you can see it is a real thing. My sister and I.  I look like a doll. I am about 4 or 5 here.  Now I'm about 8.

Some traditional dutch clothes

A few weeks ago my daughter had a cultural festival at her school.  I had promised her that I would make a traditional dutch outfit for her.  Well, I had ordered the fabric a while back, but my big pregnant belly had made it too hard to cut and reach my sewing machine, so I had to wait till after Benji was born.  That only gave me two sleep deprived weeks to make it.  I managed to get it finished just in time and it turned out way better than I expected.  I know that pumpkins in the photo are a bit deceiving as to when I took the photo, but I really just haven't gotten around to getting rid of them yet.  lol.  And just in case anyone is wondering where I got my fabric and pattern (for once I actually didn't just wing it and used a real pattern for the first time) I got it at fields fabrics .  They shipped really fast and I'll probably be making ones for my little dudes soon.

Scrapbooking, First Snow

Am I a bit crazy? Probably.  I don't know too many people who put their newborns on a sled in the snow for a photo opportunity, but it is a once in five year thing that we get 12 inches of snow in seattle.  Oh, and the snow only lasted 3 days before it was completely melted.  And Benji completely didn't care or realize he was even outside. Anyways, here is my layout for  the memory nest .  I feel like I have so much energy again to scrapbook and it is awesome.  My scrapbooking area is a disaster though.  It will take me a while to get it all cleaned up, but I'm looking forward to really being able to scrapbook again.

Scrapbooking, Parentohood

A layout for my new little guy!  It's really nice to get back to scrapbooking and to fit at my desk again.  I kind of feel like the past few months have been a bit of a blur.  My last 6 weeks of pregnancy didn't go as well as I would have liked, but my little guy was able to come a week early and that was a big change to the two weeks late that I'm used to. This is my layout for the memory nest today.  The title is easier to read in person and does look less crazy.  My sleep deprived brain is able to figure it out at least....or maybe this is what the inside of my sleep deprived brain looks like. lol.

He's Here!

He's here!  My littlest one, Benji! Born on January 11, 2017, our little Benjamin Victor has melted all of our little hearts!  And he really is my littlest one at only 8lbs 9oz.  I went in for a check up and my blood pressure had risen again so I got to be induced a week early!  It's quite the change from my older two, when I was induced because I was two weeks past my due date.  I was kind of hoping not to be induced this time around, but clearly that was just not going to happen.

Scrapbooking, Ice Skating

Happy New Year! I've got a layout for the memory nest for you!  It's getting really tricky to get my scrapbooking pages done as I wait for baby #3 to come.  My big belly keeps getting in the way!  Hopefully, it will only be about two more weeks.  It's so hard to move around or do much of anything.  I usually go ice skating every year around christmas, but it was so hard just having to watch. Anyways, I miss being able to do things.  What is driving my crazy is seeing things on the floor and not being able to pick them up is driving me crazy.  Especially the legos!  There always seems to be little lego pieces lying around.
