Scrapbooking, Bouquet Toss

When I noticed sketch challenge #20 over at ScrapFriends , I knew I wanted to play along.     I already had my little square photos, so I knew I wasn't going to make them into circles, but I thought I could add in the circle feel other ways.  I looked for circular wooden embellishments, circle stencils, and looped up twine.  I definitely used up a bit of my stash on this one.  I used up lots of odd and ends and a few new things too.  I can't decide if my favorite part is the polka dots I added to the background or the bouquet of blue glittery stars. This definitely makes for a fun page for my wedding scrapbook!

Scrapbooking, Dashing Through the Snow

It's another make it Monday over at The Memory Nest .  It's a beautiful color challenge.  I just love  this mix of colors.  It's a fresh take for Christmas and winter colors.  For the twist you have to add some texture. I added some strange cardboard stuff I had laying around.  I think it was packaging for something, but I have no clue anymore.     I started making this page by stamping the triangles.  I don't normally use color ink with stamping, but I wanted to try something more out of the ordinary.  The triangles looked way to plain by themselves, so I added some "snowballs."  I used some gesso and a stencil to make them all over.  It added so much texture.  Then I layered the paper, added photos and framed them, added embellishments and then added the title.  I decided to add my journaling to the lower right corner, but then the upper left looked much to lonely, so I stamped that little yeti.  I just love his playfulness.  He is just too cu

Scrapbooking, Got Bread?

I just love this photo of my daughter and I have been letting it sit on my desk for way to long.  It shows the best part of being two and that's the mischief!  I decided to use the Paper Girls' Confetti Challenge to jump start scraping this photo.  It also helps that I've been on a confetti shaker obsession lately. I used up this film strip from basic gray to make my confetti shaker.  I always wanted to use the strip to hold photos, but I realized that it just was never going to happen because I never have photos that small to use or crop down to that size. I only had one photo of this moment and I knew that journaling was going to be important to capture what happened, so I had to make sure I had lots of room to journal.  I usually have the hardest time with journaling because I usually don't know what to stay, but I'm trying to get better at this.     I also tried to use gold on my layout.  I normally stay away from gold as I prefer silver

Scrapbooking, Snuggle & Hug

It's another make it Monday over at the Memory Nest ! You can choose your sketch for inspiration and then you have to choose a phrase from the inspiration.  There is a lot of freedom with this make it so head on over there!   I had a lot of fun making the photo a little shaker box. I just love the little wooden hearts. It's a short post today because now I have to bring this little guy to his 4month check up!

Scrapbooking, Moments in the Snow

I'm glad to finally get around to scraping these photos from when we flew back to New York last year to visit our family.  There was a really cute sketch challenge going on at My Scraps & More.   I just love when I can get a bunch of photos onto a layout. I love the colors of this layout because they are no where near the normal colors you would think of for a Christmas/Winter layout. It just turned out so bright and happy!  This also is a list layout, which I have never done before.  I'm glad to finally got around to making a page like this.  There is a lot of texture on this page as well.  I have paper frames, fabric frames, and a wooden frame to help give a lot of texture. Plus the silver frame is actually the back of a gold frame from Maggie Holmes' Flea Market.  The gold wouldn't work with this layout, but the silvery back worked great!  I used up some paper scraps on this layout and that is always a great thing.
