Coffee Sleeve

I just wanted to share this cute fox coffee sleeve I made for one of my besties' birthday.  I had to wait a few days before I posted it to make sure I didn't mess up the surprise for my friend.  I got the directions for it here .  It didn't come out perfect, but it came out as well as it was going to for have two little ones who need my attention every five minutes.  I kind of hope I can find some time to make another one.  I would love to do one in some crazy orange fabric.

Scrapbooking, Wonderful

It's another Monday and that means another challenge is going on at the Memory Nest .  It's a color challenge with a twist of triangles! Anyways, don't be fooled by this page, my son is currently driving me CRAZY!  He doesn't want to go to sleep tonight.  I'm thinking that he is more wonderful than I ever dreamed because I never get a chance to dream!  Ha!  But really, the poor little guy is teething and I just feel bad for him because their is not really anything I can do to help him. Well, I decided to give those gelatos one more go. This time I used them to color the frame (from Create Paper's The Pie)r a lovely shade of orange.  I'm actually happy with how well they covered the frame.  Originally, I had planed to do a paper patchwork of triangles, but my photos ended up competing too much, so I opted for the triangle journaling card instead.  I also added some wooden trianglse on my page.  They actually are arrows that I just s...

Scrapbooking, Playful

I've been wanting to scrap this photo for a while.  It's the first toy my daughter ever assigned a real name to.  When I noticed this layout challenge at Scrap Friends , I knew this photo of my daughter's toy would be perfect for it. What I loved about this sketch was the feathers, but feathers didn't seem to work with my photo, so I ended up using some banners instead. Since the photo is so playful, I wanted to use a fun energetic paper.  I used this lovey dovey paper from Bella Blvd.  I just loved the colors in it, so I used the colors to pull out coordinating sequence to add to my page.  It's just the kind of page that make me happy.

Scrapbooking, Never Alone

It's Monday and that means another Challenge is going on at The Memory Nest .  The challenge is to use a selfie with the sketch below.  Now, I never take selfies, so I had to go and try to take a few.  Every time I tried, my daughter would pop her head in.  Her popping in is what inspired my title.     Now I tried another technique with some gelatos again, but I'm still not liking it.  I was really wanting them to help add some texture.  So, I covered my experiment up as best as I could.   I have also added in some journaling after I took the photo of the layout.  It took me a while to come up with what I wanted to say.  I ended up writing a little bit about what I love about being a mommy.  The journaling ended up being way more emotional than I normal do.  I think my favorite part of the page ended up being the little wooden people.  I just think they are so darling!
