Baby Time

I'm off to the hospital to be induced!  Looks like baby number 2 is just as happy to stay inside just as long as my daughter was. Isn't the second supposed to come out sooner?  I know a lot of people who had their babies at 37 and 38 weeks and it is annoying to know that I have been pregnant an entire month longer then they have!  I'm just a little disappointed that I didn't get to experience the all natural birth again.  But I'm am super thrilled to finally be able to hold little dude!

Scrapbooking, Simple Moment

Here is my layout for the  July 30 Color with a twist challenge on the Memory Nest .  I really enjoy the colors on this layout.  I find them happy and soothing at the same time.  It's easy to spot the pop of red in the stitching and a little bit on the top of the page.  You can find chevron in the stamp I used and I found a cute cloud that had chevron on it too.  I just had to use it!  Oh, and I used the frame on that photo to hide a person that was in the background next to the rock.  It is such a sweet and simple photo of my husband and daughter, but I couldn't let it be distracted with a random person!     I really dig the colors and I was glad to find the wood paper that isn't brown!  It's from Echo Park's Here & Now collection.    I'm always glad to use random bits of scrap papers and ribbons from my stash.  The tag was just cut out from white cardstock and then I put some washi tape over it and some letter stickers on top of that.

Scrapbooking, Building Towers With Daddy

I'm excited to share my first layout for The Memory Nest  as a design Team Member!  It was lots of fun to make.  I used white cardstock as my base, which I rarely do.  I have so many fun papers that I often forget how refreshing a white background can be.     The challenge is to use the above layout and the earthy colors.  While blues and greens are colors I love to use, brown isn't.  I actually really dislike brown.  I blame it on growing up in a very brown house.  Brown furniture, brown carpet, brown paneling, and anything else you can think of that could be brown is brown in my parents house.  I had to dig and dig in my stash to find a few brown items!     As you can see, my page is very interactive.  The journaling card has a photo on one side that I wanted to use and the date on the more crazy colored side.  Also, the lower right lifts up to show the tower falling down and a removable journaling card.

Scrapbooking, Live Life

Here is a page I just made for Paper Lovers Studio Layout Sketch.   I had to play around a bit with the sketch because I really wanted to use that doodlebug journaling card.  It just works so well with that photo. It is really getting interesting trying to scrapbook with my ever growing belly.  I went to my Dr. yesterday and she said that the little guy is about 8 and a half pounds.  I still have ten days more for my due date!  Yikes!  So, my belly is beyond huge now and I end up sitting so far from my desk that I can't reach much of anything.  My Dr. even tried a few things to get me to go into labors since he is getting so large, but he is just a bit too high up still so it didn't work.  Oh that large baby family gene.  Nobody on my side of the family has small babies.  I'm guessing he is going to come on Tuesday when I have to pick my mom up from the airport.  It will be so nice to have her around.  That's the only thing about living on the west coast, all t

Scrapbooking, Molly Sandwich

I just made this sweet page for the Paper Girl's Sketch Challenge.   I had a lot of fun with stamping with a cute new bo bunny splat stamp I got and painting and adding some ribbon.

Scrapbooking, Reading Buddies

Well I finally got some instagram photos printed, so it is time to get them onto some layouts.  What I like about a lot of the photos I just printed, is that they are more about capturing the moment and with my daughter there are a lot of them!   I made this page for the Scrap Your Story polaroid challenge.  I really like this picture of my daughter reading to Clifford.  I pulled the colors from the photo and water colored them onto the background.  Then I dug out some old Gouache paint that I have.  It's kind of weird paint that I never use.  I have been struggling with getting stencils to work how I want them to, but I found out that this paint give a nice little texture and gets me a lot closer to the look I've been trying to get, so I might have to use it more often.  My page got a little wrinkly when I sewed it, but hopefully I can still get it to flatten out a bit.  I'm going to blame it on this crazy heat wave and being overly pregnant.  I like to blame eve

Scrapbooking, Dream

I had these photos of my daughter sitting on my desk for a long time and I finally got around to doing something with them.  It's a very simple and clean page and much softer than I normal make.   I used up some netting stuff that was holding some veggies.  I really liked its soft yellow color.  I also used paper and embellishments from little yellow bicycle's fern forest.  I added some extra bling to the fairy to help her pop out a bit more.
